Smart Biomedical Chip Program

Posted on: 2024-06-20

With the rapid advancement of technology, biomedical chip technology is increasingly applied in the medical field, covering areas such as disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and drug development. Therefore, with the "Chip-Enabled Taiwan Program" supported by National Science Council (Taiwan), our department has established a specialized "Smart Biomedical Chip" credit program to cultivate professionals equipped with relevant knowledge and skills. This program aims to foster interdisciplinary knowledge integration. Smart biomedical chip technology combines multiple disciplines, including biomedical science, electronic engineering, materials science, information technology, semiconductor technology, and lightweight AI. Students need to master knowledge and skills in various areas. Through systematic learning, students can comprehensively understand the design principles, manufacturing processes, and application scenarios of biomedical chips, developing the ability to solve problems across different fields.

In addition to expanding relevant research, the establishment of this program also helps enhance students' employment competitiveness. With the advancement of medical technology, the demand for professionals in biomedical chips is increasing. Improvements in semiconductor processes and lightweight AI technology have significantly enhanced the precision and performance of biomedical chips, further expanding their application range. Lightweight AI refers to artificial intelligence technology that operates on resource-limited devices, such as mobile phones, IoT devices, and wearable devices. Through this program, students can gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, laying a solid foundation for their future career development. Additionally, the program will collaborate with industry to provide internship and cooperative research opportunities, enabling students to better understand industry needs and enhance their practical skills. Moreover, the establishment of the Smart Biomedical Chip credit program will also promote the development of related research. Through course learning, students can participate in cutting-edge research topics, fostering innovative thinking and research capabilities. The program can facilitate collaboration between academia and industry, promoting technology transfer and the practical application of innovative achievements, further enhancing the school's research standards and social impact.
