To align with the trends of globalization, our department is actively promoting a bilingual learning environment with a strong focus on enhancing students’ English proficiency, enabling them to showcase their competitiveness on the global academic and professional stages. Currently, we offer nine professional courses taught in English, covering both theoretical foundations and practical applications. These courses integrate cutting-edge trends across disciplines to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience. The nine courses include Introduction to Computer Science, Biology, Medical Instruments and Devices: Principles and Applications, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Physics, Mathematics for Machine Learning, and Introduction to Data Science. These courses not only strengthen students’ understanding of core knowledge in each field but also cultivate their ability to learn, think, and express themselves in English.
For example, Introduction to Computer Science helps students grasp the basic concepts of computer science, laying a solid foundation for future applications in information technology. Mathematics for Machine Learning introduces students to the world of artificial intelligence, enabling them to construct models and analyze data using mathematical logic. Courses like Biochemistry and Cell and Molecular Biology explore the intricacies of life sciences, fostering interdisciplinary skills in biomedical research. Additionally, Medical Instruments and Devices: Principles and Applications combines engineering design thinking with clinical needs, contributing to advancements in medical technology.
This course design is not just an exercise in language learning but a dual enhancement of professional expertise and global perspective. In an all-English learning environment, students gradually overcome language barriers, adapt to reading international journals, listening to English lectures, participating in discussions, and confidently presenting their professional viewpoints in English. Looking forward, our department will continue to expand its English-taught course offerings, dedicated to cultivating professionals with global competitiveness. We believe that through this bilingual teaching environment, students will not only master specialized knowledge but also develop solid foundations in English communication and expression. This will serve as a strong springboard for their academic research and career development, propelling them toward broader opportunities on the international stage!
