Revealing Cancer Cell Invasion

2D Cell Model of Cancer Cell Vascular Invasion

Highly invasive head and neck cancer cells (red fluorescence) form invasive pseudopodia (elongated cell protrusions). Multiple matrix metalloproteinases accumulate at the pseudopodia, disrupting the vascular endothelial layer (green fluorescence) and the microenvironment matrix, leading to cancer cell migration through the blood vessels.
