Assistant Professor Ziling Huang from the Department of Information Management at National Central University has been awarded the 2024 Yushan Academic Award. The award-winning paper is titled "The Influence of Media Capabilities on Knowledge Contribution in Online Communities." The research highlights that online forums enable individuals to connect with others who share similar interests and to acquire the necessary knowledge and information. Traditional online forums typically use asynchronous communication, but with advancements in information technology and media tools, the line between asynchronous and synchronous communication in online forums is becoming increasingly blurred. This study innovatively proposes theoretical mechanisms for the impact of different media capabilities on the objectives of online forum activities, emphasizing that building connections with other users is key to fostering a sense of commitment in online forums. Additionally, creating a shared knowledge base helps promote personal growth, making this paper highly original and insightful.
